You have everything you’ve ever wanted, but…
Burnout & Identity Therapy for High-Achieving Moms in Nashville, TN
You’re secretly thinking:
"I should be happier."
“I shouldn’t yell."
"I should be able to do it all."
The "shoulds" don't mean you're failing. Neither do the guilt, the anxiety, the overwhelm, or the burnout. They mean our society expects you to work like you don't have a family, and mother like you don't have a career — with no acknowledgment that you're carrying it all.
Let’s find out what it means for you to live “should-free.”
"Elise has the unique ability to help high-achieving moms break free from perfectionist cycles. She creates a warm and inviting space for career moms to let go of unrealistic standards and reconnect with what matters most in life.
Her work is transformative."
— Shea W.
You're exhausted and skeptical that anything will actually help — you've tried the “just take time for yourself,” the meditation, the hundreds of apps.
And maybe you’re asking yourself
(or your new AI bestie):
-
Your body is fatigued but when you’re finally “permitted” to take a break, your brain is spewing out all the things you “should” be doing.
You feel shame and guilt for slowing down, and believe you weren’t productive “enough” to deserve to rest.
And of course, the dreaded “night brain.” Whether it takes drowning out your thoughts to finally dose off, waking in the middle of the night and not being able to fall back asleep, or the quality of your sleep…shall we say “needs improvement?”
-
You’re feeling resentment toward your partner, your in-laws, your employer, the Instagram mom - who happened to catch a flawless moment of pristine regulation during their toddler’s meltdown - or society’s expectations of working moms in general.
You don’t believe your partner could possibly understand the invisible load, but you still try over and over…and over again.
-
The tornado of guilt, worry, and to-dos leads to constant overstimulation, irritability, overwhelm, and an inability to connect with the moment and people in front of you.
You might believe you’re traumatizing your child due to missing these precious and invaluable bonding opportunities.
You might be considering leaving your career because you’re realizing you can’t do it all.
-
Whether you’re trying to “bounce back” physically, trying to remember what you used to like doing in your free time, or trying to maintain your relationships with friends, your partner, your family, or yourself.
-
Losing yourself without seeing the path forward. You’ve realized that your identity as a helper, caretaker, fixer, or people-pleaser is not who you are - or want to be anymore. At the same time, you’re scared of setting boundaries or saying “no” because disappointing others is terrifying.
-
You’re confused and disappointed because you were told you would have a village to support you. You might have noticed the people you thought you could rely on have faded or haven’t showed up in the way you expected them to.
Hi, I’m Elise Rhodes.
I'm a mother, wife, and therapist — and I’ve also been there: bone-deep exhaustion and the all-consuming guilt that come from trying to be “perfect” for everyone—except for myself.
Since then, I've dedicated my work to guiding mothers through the who, what, when, where, and why of maternal burnout and recovery— and the liberating transformation that follows.
Here's what you can expect:
Intentionally unpolished.
Some days I've got toddler jelly on my sleeve. We'll cuss when your morning is a "shit show." We'll laugh when your (or my) toddler pees on the stairs mid-session (yes, it's happened).
Tools for now, and space for what's underneath.
Customized time-savvy practices to calm your nervous system in the moment, and deeper work to reconnect you with the parts of yourself that got buried.
An experienced guide.
As a licensed therapist, certified perinatal mental health provider, and matrescence-trained facilitator, I bring depth and breadth to our work together.
My Approach
Becoming a mother (also known as “matrescence”)
is a rite of passage,
full of complicated changes —
emotional, physical, relational, biological.
In many other cultures, the mother is honored, celebrated, guided, and tended to by her village. But in our society, we skip past all of that. Mothers are left asking, "Where is my village?" — feeling alone in something that was never meant to be experienced alone.
Here, we bring those foundational practices back. And we treat — not just manage — the anxiety, guilt, burnout, and overwhelm that come with trying to meet impossible expectations.
My E.D.I.T. framework comes from years of witnessing mothers transform, sitting right across from me. It's how we get you to becoming the authentic, aligned, and empowered woman and mother you’re meant to be.
The E.D.I.T. Framework
Inspired by true client transformations

developed specifically for mothers like you.

I do not directly bill insurance. However, many clients use out-of-network benefits to receive partial reimbursement. I can provide a detailed receipt (often called a superbill) that you may submit to your insurance provider. I also recommend contacting your insurance to ask about your specific coverage for out-of-network mental health services.

Due to the depth of my work and limited slots on my calendar, I ask that all clients attend weekly sessions. This ensures momentum and continuity and is essential for rapport — the foundation of positive transformation/outcome.
